Swift later tweeted images of the album cover with a description, confirming that the new music would be released on October 21.
“In love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears,” she wrote.
“We stare at the walls and drink until they respond.” We twist in our self-made cages, praying that we aren’t about to make some fateful life-altering mistake right now.
“This is a collection of music composed late at night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.”
“The demons we face and the floors we pace.”
“For all of us who have tossed and turned, deciding to keep the lanterns lit and go searching, hoping that when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.”
“Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life,” she added, “will be released on October 21.”
“Please meet me at midnight.”
The post also teased a 13-song track list, with a side A and side B, but no individual track names were revealed.
Swift thanked her fans as she accepted the night’s final award at the fan-voted ceremony, saying they had “emboldened” her.
“I was thinking that if you were going to be this generous and give us this (award), it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out on October 21.”

“Just take my money now, I’m going to spend it all on this tour anyway,” one user wrote.
“OH MY GOD THIS IS HAPPENING THIS IS THE BEST NEWS,” said another.
